Learning Target:
Review Surface Area of Cylinders and Prisms
In Class:
Students were placed into 3 groups
Group 1) Students that did well on Quiz 10.6 Surface Area, were given a choice of activities for the hour: (pentominoes, logic problems, )
Group 2) Students that took the Quiz, but only made minor mistakes on a specific area such as (cylinders) solved practice problems/whiteboard review for that concept. After demonstrating mastery of the concept they were given the opportunity to "fix" their quiz.
Group 3) Students that did NOT take the quiz because they were not ready, or took it and failed worked on extension problems in all areas (cylinders, prisms (rectangular & triangular)
ALL STUDENTS THAT DID NOT TAKE THE QUIZ WILL DO SO IN CLASS ON FRIDAY!! There will not be retakes on this quiz.
Finish Extension Sheet for those students that DID NOT take the quiz, or did not do well on the quiz.

Learning Target:
I can use 24 cubes to create 6 unique rectangular prisms (boxes)
I can determine the surface areas of each prism (box)
In Class:
Students completed the "Design a Box Challenge"
Students were each given 24 unifix cubes and challenged to create 6 unique (boxes)
They then needed to determine the surface area and volume for each box.
How are Length, Width and Height related to volume?
Homework:
page 541 problems #5 and #8
Design a Box Challenge- Answer questions on the back-- use complete sentences!
